The Cardinal that was under scrutiny for not doing enough about the abuse scandals was the progressive one. The rest are the conservative ones. It's the progressive ones that are the worst.

Well I can only speak of the Catholic Church. The church has a lot of different things the money is used for; from funding Universities, hospitals, private schools, monasteries, small health clinics, retreat camps, non-profit organizations, psychological clinics, the list goes on. All of these things around the world need funding every year.

I can attack any idea as I wish. Do not tell me to stop disrespecting an idea that doesn't respect me.

FYI not all Catholics hate gays. I know a lot who are pro-gay marriage including my dad's side of the family and some of my mom's.

That whole 'everything has a purpose' idea just comes off to me as incredibly childish. And you aren't even willing to accept that view that you say you hold. You weren't satisfied with the apparent purpose of humans, and so you choose to believe another one without evidence because it makes you happier.

Everything does have a purpose. Find me one single thing on this earth that does not serve a purpose. Our purpose is to be with and love God; that is why he created us. Doesn't man create things to make his life happier? And aren't those things sometimes some of the most complicated things in the world? Well the human is the most complicated thing on this planet. Surely there has to be a highly intelligent being who created us. Our universe and us weren't just made by chance anymore than a clock just forms it self if the parts are dropped in a box and shaken.

Anyone who follows the bible (christians, catholics, etc) are inherently homophobic, racist, and sexist by nature regardless of their viewpoint. You can't just pick the good things and ignore the bad stuff in the text, just doesn't work that way sorry.

Secularisation is certainly on the rise, most significantly in English-speaking countries. However, I doubt the faith will ever die. I'm a non-practising Catholic by the way. Even though I only go to church maybe once a year, I still identify as one.

I'm just not a full believer and prefer not to be 100% tied in living by every imposition the faith has. I'm sure many other Catholics would feel the same way. There are over a billion Catholics. It's just that not everyone is practising.

God, however, does hate homosexuals. It is also impossible for a Christian to be a homosexual simultaneously, per 1 Corinthians 6:9.

The Catechism actually condemns the act of sex between two people of the same gender. Not homosexuality proper.
