Can Elton John help Fall Out Boy save rock and roll?
Elton John recently joined Fall Out Boy in an Atlanta studio to collaborate on a track for the group's new album, Save Rock and Roll.
Due to the success of the album's first single, My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up), the release date for Save Rock and Roll has been moved up from May 7 to April 16. It's the band's fifth album and first since 2008's Folie a Deux.
My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) has sold 388,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The single currently sits at No. 17 on USA TODAY's Alternative airplay chart and at No. 23 on the Top 40 chart.
"When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music," the group said in a statement when the new album was announced. "It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us."
Tentatively here for this. There can only be one "What A Catch, Donnie" afterall.
When I heard about this supposed collaboration, I immediately thought of What a Catch. I think the song will be similar, except for the musical "flasbacks" of course.
Wondering if there are more collaborations on the album.

Pete said there would be more collaborations, this is one of them.

Fall Out Boy Promises ‘Diverse’ Guest Stars On New Album
In advance of the forthcoming comeback album from Fall Out Boy, bassist Pete Wentz has taken to the band’s website to promise a “diverse” cast of guest appearances on Save Rock and Roll (out April 16).
“So I was thinking about some of our past features (ones that stuck with me): Jay-Z, Brendon Urie, John Mayer (guitar), Debbie Harry, Lil Wayne, and Elvis Costello,” Wentz wrote on the band’s site today (March 12). “The features that we have on Save Rock and Roll will be just as diverse – we are fans of all different kinds of music and the features will reflect that. If anything we have gone farther…”
