I suggested this idea many months ago on ATRL. Hopefully, they will have a "viewer counters" too so people tuning in will know how many people are watching alongside them.

I like it If this is going to be successful, they have to start doing more VEVO interviews and specials and air them with the music videos too.

How will it count toward Billboard Hot 100?

Since this is "passive" viewing and not "on-demand."


Imagine 100,000 people in the USA tuning in at the same time and watch Rihanna "Stay" live on VEVO TV. Does this mean she will have 100,000 added to her Billboard Streamings total?

And the next video and so forth.

so 30 seconds ad after 3 MVs. About one 30 seconds ad after 10-12 minutes then. That's not bad considering on TV, it's a 3 minutes ad after 12 minutes of programming.

If this does well, I wouldn't be surprised if they applied for an actual cable license.

VEVO trying to bring back true music television

This will flop. Nobody's going to sit on their computer and just leave this open so they can watch music videos when the experience is much better on a television

Except most "music" channels never play music videos anymore

you can stream VEVO TV on your TV.

It's available on Xbox and Roku right now.

In the near future, probably expand to more streaming device like Apple TV, PS3, Wii, Blu-ray players etc.....

Look at Netflix.....most of the viewing its on the TV and it is done through the Internet.
