Has anyone bought the new SimCity game? It came out last week.

Unfortunately, it's been plagued with server issues. Many people who bought it haven't even been able to play it because the servers are always overloaded. For those of you who didn't know, EA screwed yet another game over with their DRM love by requiring users to have an active internet connection at all times. Along with that, the GlassBox engine the game uses must be loaded from their servers. Your game saves are put on their servers too.

Because of these issues, along with the game being underwhelming to some, the reviews have TANKED it has a 1 star rating on Amazon with over 3,000 reviews (read the most helpful favorable review, hilarious).

I'm really excited to play it, and since I have a Mac, hopefully they'll have their server issues ironed out by the time the Mac version comes out. I'll have to shell out the $70 for the game because the always-online DRM is going to take ages to crack.

I was looking for something new for my computer, when I stumbled upon this game on Amazon and decided, what the heck, lets give it a shot! I have to say it far exceeds my expectations. Thankfully, the game never actually loads. I was looking for a program where I could zone out, and stare at my computer screen in a meditative state for hours on end with no interuptions. There's no actual gameplay, sound effects, or graphics to distract you from your meditation. You may be forced to run the same "Tutorial" over and over again, but don't worry about that minor problem, because as soon as you exit the tutorial you'll be returned to a program that blissfully crashes or just, never logs onto any server succesfully, once again giving you peace and quiet. Incredible job EA, will there be a sequel?

It really sucks how they messed this game up.

People used to play SimCity to play alone; there's no feasible reason to implicate a multiplayer system, let alone a mandatory one.
