Sometimes hyping and being disappointed keeps us going, though. It may hurt when nothing arrives, but without the hyping/disappointment cycle, this fan base would be so boring with nothing being announced, and nothing to look forward to and get excited for.
For example, in December we're all getting excited for New Year's. It kept us going while nothing was happening, thinking 'Oh, not long now and we'll have the dates!'. So, nothing gets announced, and we all get sad. Then we all think she's gonna announce it on Skype, so we start getting excited about it. We're looking forward to it. It keeps us interested until it turns out the Skype thing was all a mess. We get annoyed again. Her birthday is close, and we're all getting excited about what she might say - 'Oh my god, the announcement is so close!' - it's exciting!
If she doesn't say anything, we get annoyed again, but look - we're already (or we will by the time we're disappointed) in April. Imagine going from November to April with absolutely NO dates to look forward to. It just keeps the whole fan base going. It's not very long to go until the album, now that the tour is over. We'll be in April and we'll have a new date to look forward to (maybe 2nd anniversary of BTW release), and that'll keep us going until late-May, early-June. By which time, I'd be INCREDIBLY surprised if nothing had been announced by then.
Let's hype it all up. Sure, we'll get disappointed, but we'll stay interested and sane.
