Wouldnt it be interesting to see the contestants sing original songs instead of songs by other artist during the live shows?

Like, when we get down to the Top 10, each mentor will decide with his contestants as to which direction they want to take and what their music will sound like. Then, each week they perform original songs that they have recorded.
That way the audience dont just vote for who has the best voice, or who has the the whole package, but who they would like to buy their music.

A lot of artist sing songs that dont suit them on X Factor. And its not the direction they want to take after the show.
Maybe by showing the world how their music will sound like, will get them more interested in them.

I know it would cost a lot more money, since they would need to get producers and writers to complete 10 songs each week, but i think it could take the show to another level.

I feel bad for Mel, but not really. She still gets paid $5 million and doesn't have to do anything. Now she can take as many years as she wants, she's still gettin' paid.
