Because that's what most abusers do. This is why Rihanna is so stupid for going back to that boy. Like Tina Turner said, "what's love got to do with it?" Just because you want something, doesn't mean you need it.
Not to be all stan-like but if all Pat did was exit the plane and leave, I'm assuming that's a better way of ending an arguement rather than actually fighting.
