The southern US alone is probably more homophobic then then entirety of the UK Look at the way males act in the UK versus the US. In the US if a guy hugs a guy friend it could be seen as suspicious
But has anybody else noticed the Anglophone countries (US, UK, Australia, etc.) are generally more homophobic than the other Western nations? That's not to say they're all completely homophobic it's just still more of an issue in these countries than most other Western ones. I wonder why that is.
UK is like a liberal heaven compared to US when it comes to homophobia and just politically in general.
UK conservative party is way more liberal than US Democrat party and that says a lot.

Well, you do have to admit, UK guys tend to act feminine compared to ones from the US..like extremely feminine(not meant for every individual guy - and this is from my own observation from the friends I have that live/are from the UK.)
As others have said, the UK is pretty secular and liberal with an increasingly non-religious population...so extreme homophobia isn't common. It's usually just the odd "that's so gay" and a bit of "poof", but if you called them out on it they'd probably deny being homophobic. You'd certainly get judged by most for being vocally anti-gay.
Furthermore, our Prime Minster is the leader of the Conservative Party (Republican-ish) and has been pushing for gay marriage legalisation, some of the most popular TV/radio hosts are gay (Graham Norton, Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Paul O'Grady, Gok Wan, Nick Grimshaw, Scott Mills etc.), guys here are generally pretty metro and sometimes even act gay "for banter". The way One Direction carry on is very similar to how guys I went to school with acted.
The US obviously. How can it not be when we have idiots like Ron and Rand Paul representing people, and Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck are actually allowed to openly spew their bigotry to the millions of dumb ass people sitting there willingly paying attention to the mess.

All I hear of attitudes to homosexuality in the US is negative, and from personal experience in the UK I can't save I've ever encountered a negative attitude towards it... So it'd hands down I'd say the US.
