I disagree music is everywhere unlike movies music is played while you drive ,at parties, in the club, school events etc ppl are more exposed to music than film making musicians more relevant. Also actors are not the main attraction to a movie ppl care more about special effects than seeing an actor. How much press does Amanda seyfried get compared to Taylor swift?

Actors just have a lot more people than musicians so it's harder to get respect but they get more jobs because a lot of films and TV shows needs actors than musicians so they get more famous than musicians. The best known pop singers(Britney, Rihanna, Gaga, Beyonce, Katy) however are more famous than the best known actors(Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Zoe Saldana, Halle Berry, Tom Cruise, Shia Labeouf etc) while the most respected musicians are not as respected as the most respected actors in hollywood(e.g. Michael Jackson: Tom Hanks and Madonna:Meryl Streep)
