Better X Factor mentor: Cheryl Cole or Guy Sebastien?
So I've recently gotten myself caught up on X Factor UK and X Factor Australia since the US version got wasted on Tate. And it has come to my attention that Cheryl Cole and Guy Sebastien's mentoring history is almost identical in nature:
What they have in common
- They both were a mentor for 3 years on their respective versions of the X Factor
- Both were the winning mentor two seasons in a row
- Both are singers who came from other talent show competitions
- Both have had at least one of their winners become successful in their native countries (Alexandra Burke for Cheryl and Reece Mastin for Guy, although Samantha Jade was the potential to be successful as well).
- Both managed to have two acts in the final in at least one of their seasons.
- Both have had acts that didn't win but have had success afterwards, at least moderately
So is the better mentor based on the stats, and the music that there contestants have released after the show?
