If somebody gets genuinely upset over somebody shading their fave it's because that person is insecure themselves and uses their fave to make themselves feel more confident. They feel alone and like their fave is the only one who cares about them or understands them so when somebody says something negative about them it gets them in a deep way. If a person was happy with their own life they would not feel so close to their fave that they would feel personally insulted when somebody insulted their fave. It's as simple as that.

This, mostly...but I don't know why other people poke fun at other people's insecurities and scoff and shade and drag them, because that's not funny. It's not "cute," it's unnecessary, and it's borderline bullying... If the person has a mental illness or insecurity of some sort, why would someone else go out of their way to belittle that person or that person's idol through which they may live vicariously...

I understand that idolizing celebrities to the point of satire and dragging each other for fun is the epitome of ATRL, and is what all stan wars entail. Mostly it's all fun and games, right? But some people take it too far...

Where's the line? And who draws it?

And then you wonder who really has the problem, the "crazy stan" or "the bully," or both. And its worse when people don't even take ownership for what they "imply" or "say" as if it's all innocent and there was no malicious intent. Or maybe some people are too sensitive, but sometimes, I feel like some things are just very unnecessary on this site...

Yeah that's the difficult thing about the internet. Is the person you're talking to a happy go lucky 20 year old who is just kidding around? Or is it a depressed 16 year old who is on the edge but fakes being confident on the internet to make themselves feel better? Who knows? That's why the internet is dangerous and I try not to put anybody down because I don't know what the other person is going through. (operative word here being try)
