I hope this song is better.

I really thought "Now" was gonna shoot up top the top 10. I don't know what happened. Maybe Monster did better because it was part of the Transformers soundtrack but i really didn't expect it to underperform as it is.
On the other hand... PART II A CONTINUATION FOR LET THE FLAMES BEGIN? FHYIOAWGFHYIBGEVF
NEW SINGLE COMING?1?!?!?!?! UOWEQYGFRBHEBJ.

I think Now was a mistake tbh. I love the song but it is not a good look for fans expecting something incredible after a long hiatus. It's so polarizing. What a stupid idea

Paramore Listening Party
Yesterday afternoon in Sydney while I was in the city with friends we walked past REC studios which had a small group of Paramore fans out the front. I figured it was the winners of the channel v Listening party competition, so I asked a guy named Mark who was standing alone if he had a +1 and he didn’t. I took that spot which basically sums up how I was lucky enough to get in.
When we entered the small studio which held the listening party we were required to leave all of our belongings outside and were then frisked and scanned with metal detectors upon entering.
Once all 20 fans were sitting in the tiny studio Paramore came in and sat down to basically tell us how nervous they were, what we should take from the number of songs we listened to and how exciting it was that we were the very first fans to hear their new music. The band left the room and one of the tech guys started playing the first song on the album ‘Fast In My Car’.
This song was smooth pop rock with instrumentals similar to Now. The lyrical value of the song is what made it cross the boundaries of rock to pop. Hayley used in her voice in new ways and (dare I say it?) I felt that the lyrics were all very directed at the Farros.
From here on the order of the songs becomes a bit muddled so bare with me. I think Last Hope came next. It was one of my favourites of he bunch. It started off quite soft and sad but not quite acoustic. A stand lyric for me was “it’s just a spark but its enough to keep me going. Even in the dark, no ones around it keeps glowing.” The jam was reminiscent of a cross between We Are Broken and Misguided Ghosts.
The next song would have been Still Into You. It’s a poppy and upbeat love song with jagged guitar work. It’s being released as the next single and the music video is being filmed in Texas.
The next song was a gem in the bunch we heard. Part 2 opens with the instrumentals of the LTFB outro with a slight twist that I will leave as a surprise. The song is a heartfelt continuation of LTFB. The short song we know as the Monster Outro has been added to the end of Part 2. Because of how much I love Paramores intros and outros, this song really resonated with me an will be an absolute spectacle to see performed live.
Ain’t It Fun was the song I was most eager to hear because of how different it was made out to be by music journalists and the band themselves. It is definitely a step in new, in uncharted territory the band. The upbeat, catchy riff was infections and the inclusion of the gospel choir made the song what it is. Although very different, Paramore still stayed true to their roots and produced something they should be very proud of.
Once the songs were finished the band came back in for a Q&A which was really personal and chilled out. A few people got to ask questions and I got to ask something about Soundwave. I was pretty stoked when the band collectively said they had seen me at all their shows.
After the Q&A some photos were taken by a photographer an we just hung out for a bit until the band had to leave. It was such a great experience and I am so grateful to channel v for organising the competition and to Mark for taking me as his plus 1. Still hard to believe I was one of the first fans to hear a portion of the new album and in courting down to April 5th!

Oh glory.
When I was 17, I started writing lyrics to a song that would later be called “Let The Flames Begin”. It was on our sophomore album, RIOT! I never felt like it really sounded as meaningful on record as it seemed when we played it live. Over the years, we added on and added on to it. Not only is it one of our favorites to play at shows but one of the most highly requested live songs by… ahem… you guys. Maybe it’s just because the song is heavier than most our other songs or maybe it’s cause it feels really emotional to sing some of those words. Either way, it means a lot to all of us.
The lyrics touched on the way I saw us (people who were around my same age at the time) and how we fit in to society… and sort of lightly dusted the topic of the human condition. How broken we must seem from the outside, to whoever happens to be looking in. I have always had that deep sort of hurting feeling that happens when you hear a tragic story of someone young who is diagnosed with a terminal sickness, or when you see someone homeless and begging on the side of the road who you could give a couple dollars to but could never really help… but I get it all the time… just about the world at large. Because I feel, truly and deeply, that we are all searching for some kind of cure or some kind of quick fix, all the time. Always filling a void. I do this every day even when I’m not aware. The condition of being alive and breathing. “How can I please me?” It’s not with pessimistic eyes that I see all these things, I just believe it’s realistic. For some people, there is faith that more is at work than just the brokenness of all of us. For others, it’s enough just to know that we try to be the best human we can be and make whatever difference we can. Whatever your pleasure, belief, sorrow or triumph… we are all human and we are all constantly facing some sort of brokenness. Of the heart, of finances, of family, of dreams… it is real pain and it can’t be ignored.
Sometimes the only thing that gets me through a hard time is knowing that we are all (somewhat) in the fight together. Even as we might feel like we’re fighting alone, there billions of other humans doing exactly the same thing. In whatever their respective fights may be. I don’t know how it helps but really, it does. To know that no one has it figured out. It’s a bit of a drag but it’s just good comfort.
Seeing as even a good 6 years later I still feel all these things about life and being human, it probably should’ve been obvious that we’d write another song with a similar message for the new album. This time around I feel like it comes across a bit more hopeless… but actually that’s what excites me the most about it. To me, it’s getting to the bottom of what you thought was a bottomless pit… and that’s where you surrender yourself to whatever is next. That’s what billions of other people are doing right now. Hitting the bottom only to lift their gaze up and figure out how to get off of the ground again. Yeah, knowing that definitely helps.
It’s strange that a song about all this could go on what is about to be the most positive and most intoxicatingly fun Paramore album we have ever written… but somehow it works. And anyways, anyone who knows me knows I can only write so many happy lyrics til I have to start venting about something else again.
This is long and it’s late and I hope it makes sense to anyone if not all of you who actually read it.

Wow. I've never read that before I knew Let The Flames Begin was a special song to them. You see a different side of all of them when they play it live. Such passion and rawness. And everytime i hear it, especially live, i get chills. Of course it's my favorite song.
This was crazy to read. Inspiring but sad and depressing. Can't explain it. I love Hayley.
I can't wait for the album and THAT song. Omg, i'm freakin dying do hear it now.

I'm on an iPad mini. It's ridiculously difficult to type on this thing so you'll have to forgive me if this ends up being short or I misspell everything... I just wanted to share a lyric from a new song called "Part ll" with you guys since we've played it for a few people here in Sydney and the word is out! For years now, "Let The Flames Begin" has been a favorite of ours to play live, as well as being a favorite of most people who come out to our shows.... We wanted it to have a sequel. "Part ll" is it!
We played 5 songs for people tonight and although I'm not gonna share lyrics from all 5 just yet, I am gonna post a few lines like I said tonight. Aaand I'll post some lines from a couple others over the next week while we're still out here down under.
I chose to share these chorus lyrics first because there are a couple similar themes to "Now" throughout this one... I feel like we are still in the first chapter of a whole new story. And while a lot of this story involves redemption and having fought what seemed like an endless fight (within ourselves), it will only make coming out alive on the other end that much sweeter. There is so much brightness and joy to come from other songs on the rest of the album. I like the contrast that the shadows cast. It was all our dark moments, ones that inspired songs like "Part ll" and "Now", which actually made us more appreciative of the ease and happiness in our new found hope. So take heart if you're seemingly stuck under a rain cloud... You won't always have to fight so hard to stay dry. Relish this moment too... You might find some strength in that surrender. Or you might just do what we did and write a song.
(Tonight meant so much to us. Finally sharing some of this album with anybody outside the media was such a treat and quite honestly a huge relief! Thanks to those who won tickets for being so cool and for genuinely being excited about a fully renewed Paramore.)
-H
"Dancing all alone
To the sound of an enemy's song
I'll be lost until you find me...
Fighting on my own
In a war that's already been won
I'll be lost until you come and find me here, oh glory."

I REALLY hope they go all out in the studio version though. I feel like they held back with "Let the flames begin", i mean, look at the live version of that song. It's still my favorite but somehow i feel like it could have been a little bit heavier and deeper. I want that in "Part II".

“Part II” - There have been rumours about the fact that this song was a follow on from Let The Flames Begin off of RIOT! and they were TRUE! It is in fact a part two of LTFB and starts off with the lyrics “what a shame we all became such fragile broken things” other lyrics included something about a “spark’ and if you recall from LTFB there were lyrics “a memory remains just a tiny spark”. You can definitely hear links between the two.. both lyrically and musically but it is a whole new song. Towards the end there’s an instrumental and it leads into the ‘Monster’ outro they’ve been playing at shows over the past year. As soon as I heard the drums start I knew it was coming and I got so excited! I sang along because I LOVE that outro and it just fit in so perfectly with the rest of the song.

I am literally on the verge of tears right now with chills running up and down my body from just reading that. Let The Flames Begin is my all time favorite Paramore song, and the live versions with the "Oh Father" outro never fail to give me chills no matter how many times I hear it, and I'm getting some lyrics from LTFB tattooed on me in the near future.
Like, Anklebiters and Part II have been my most anticipated tracks from this album, and honestly I can't see how they won't deliver. I ****ing love this band.
Oh and I heard "Still Into You" is coming RIGHT before the album release, and those greedy Australian's need to leak that 30 second clip of Daydreaming.

You don't understand, someone on tumblr asked him they were told not to leak it.

hey! just one question.... hayley, taylor and jeremy made you promised you wouldnt share the preview of daydreaming? Its just because i didnt get it why all of you cant do it.
- alittleheaven
The means didn’t make us promise anything. It was actually my idea not to put it online and everyone else agreed it would be more special if we kept it on the down low. I understand everyone wants to hear it, but for now its just a special bonus for the people who were there. Im sure it will be online soon anyway

Like bitch They clearly want your dumbasses to leak it. It took a LOT of self control not to explode on his inbox.

I'm with you on that one. I was almost in tears readin that and i'm also getting "LTFB" lyrics tattoed. I'm just really on the fence on what i should tattoo. I really wish i could get the whole ****ing song just because the lyrics mean THAT much to me but, as of now, i'm between:
"Somewhere weakness is our strength and I'll die searching for it" or "I believe that there's hope growing beneath it all"

But if the band did tell them NOT to leak it, then I have no problem with them not leaking it, but if they didn't clearly they want it to leak, I mean why else would they give out a ****ing 30 second sample of a song, "like here have this USB that has a sample of a song but don't leak it" It just doesn't make sense to me, because if they didn't want it leaked, they would have just played the 30 second sample at the listening party instead of giving it to them.... ugh.
