Why do people hate Anne Hathaway?
I'm posting this because it could lead to a moderately interesting discussion, not just on Hathahaterz but haters of ALL our favorite pop girls/celebrity culture, etc.

“Deep down, we loathe celebrities,” says David Thomson, film critic and author, most recently, of “The Big Screen: The Story of the Movies.”
“We envy them,” says Thomson. “We think they don’t deserve it. We hate the influence they have over us. And there have to be sacrificial lambs.” Hathaway’s role is not unlike Lindsay Lohan’s, that of punching bag on which we project our resentment of celebrities, generally speaking.
But Hathaway is not an accidental target, Thomson says. “She’s just a little too wide-eyed, too good to be true. There is an abiding youthfulness to her,” he says. “That princess image has not gone away. She does not yet quite seem a grown woman.”
Perhaps there’s a double standard at work here. Bradley Cooper comes in for criticism, too, but it has little to do with the degree to which he is or is not a grown man. “People are rougher on young female stars than they are on young male stars,” says veteran Hollywood reporter Howard Karren, who served as an editor at Premiere in the 1990s. He notes that the wealth of young actresses able to jump between popcorn and prestige films today is a very new development. When he was at Premiere, the Oscars consistently nominated older, experienced actresses like Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange and Meryl Streep.

I just asked my one friend and she told me "Anne is basically the actress version of Taylor Swift. All her acceptance speeches are annoying."
I didn't find it that bad though. A little cheesy but w/e. Most actresses are. They all look elegantly shocked and poised while breathing deeply and listing off names with their glistening eyes.

Let me explain it, Anne is a trained stage actress, at times it seems like she wants to have this "I'm so perfect" image and that's why a lot of people do not like her, they don't see her as natural or easy to connect with. For the most part, I like Anne, but she has had some really cringe worthy moments this awards season.

I was like wow this girl has the most blatantly fake,over-the-top answers to any question. I like her in movies, but I guess she should her real self shine and not this up-tight mess.

I don't know, she just seems so desperate and intense sometimes. I know acting is her dream and she worked very hard her whole life for that Oscar but her campaign was too much. I liked her way better back in the Princess Diaries/The Devil Wears Prada days.

This actually makes sense
That said, I feel like people are a bit unjustified in hating her because they can't relate to her

I don't care what people think of her interviews or speeches. I love her as an actress, and that's what her job and passion is. If you can't find it in yourself to appreciate her talent you can't appreciate anything...

Like, at the Critics Choice Awards, when she won for Best Supporting Actress she made a really tacky move by basically saying "Yeah, you all spelled my name wrong on the screen while announcing the nominees." It's just really like "Anne, sis, breath, relax, and be natural." But, since she has that "I want to be liked by all" mindset, she comes across as fake, awkward, and just staged.
