Exactly. I think everyone should do this tbh. Sure it can effect opening week, however, a leak could effect overall sales. Which is more important.
The album will be out 4 days before its US release. It will probably leak sometime that week.
Instead of dealing with that, have it released digitally on the Monday prior to release week.
I personally prefer buying physical albums. Most people these days can't help but listen to the album before they buy it anyway.
So really. It's a win win.
