Beyonce and Jay-Z are one of the wealthiest couples in the world with millions upon millions of dollars in earnings just in the past year alone. So why would Bey and Jay need to take $1 million from a fund set up to aid starving children in Nigeria?

That's a big question and it needs answers.

According to a new report, B and Jigga can thank Kim Kardashian for bringing this "scandal" to light. After the reality TV star was paid an excessive amount to make an appearance in Nigeria, someone started looking into how much other famous entertainers were paid and found that Bey and Jay were paid $1 million back in 2006 and -- here's the kicker -- that money was taken from a fund set up to aid starving children in the impoverished country.

Whether Beyonce and Jay-Z knew this when they took the money for their appearance or not remains to be seen, but you have to think that they didn't know. After all, a million dollars is chump change to them so why would they put their reputation on the line for a small check?

"Sahara Reporters has uncovered a document indicating that a million dollars of Bayelsa State's poverty alleviation fund was spent by then Governor Goodluck Jonathan on bringing American entertainers Beyonce and Jay Z to Nigeria in 2006"
