Bosses of the World Wide Fund for Nature (Wwf) have launched an online campaign asking the nation's Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, to make ivory trade in the country illegal to reduce the numbers of elephants slaughtered for their tusks.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker, a keen animal rights campaigner, is backing the call and has linked to the online petition on her Twitter.com page.
In an accompanying post, she writes, "Poaching for illegal ivory trade devastates wild elephant populations. kill the trade & ban Thai ivory."
Sorry, but making horse jokes in this thread would be kinda low. She's campaigning for a good cause and I don't know why other celebs get all the props when they're politically engaged and Leona gets ridiculed for it. Anyway, I'm shocked ivory trade is still a problem, I thought its bans had been effective.
