Putting THAT much
GDDR5 memory in the console is INSANE!

most modern day PC graphics cards have 1-3GB of GDDR5... that's going to be a ton of power and it'll def be a lot more powerful than the Xbox 720 if they only have DDR3.
The thing that will suck for Sony is that they'll certainly be selling this for a loss. I wouldn't mind paying $600 or so at launch but that memory alone will cost them quite a bit. But if this ends up having the advantage over the 720, it'll be worth it in the end.
