Adele and Gaga. Any 12 year old girl with a diary can write Taylor's lyrics.

People underestimate her writing abilities because she makes dance pop music. People will vote Adele/Taylor because they make music which is marketed as "authetic and real" and those earthy vibes make you feel as though their songwriting is more than what it is.
It's interesting that you mention both Gaga and Taylor, because the two are polar opposites when it comes to songwriting and lyricism.
Most of Gaga's songs have a feeling of emotional distance. Her lyrics are vague and ambiguous, and she seems to like using bizarre metaphors (as well as the occasional gratuitous foreign language). The feeling is also accentuated by her vocal delivery; it's not really emotionless, but she often sounds aloof and detached.
Taylor Swift is the complete opposite. Her music is incredibly intimate, and she describes every moment she's ever experienced in exhaustive detail. Her songs almost read like diary entries, painting an extremely graphic picture of her personal life.
So, really, it all comes down to personal preference when it comes to those two.
Though I'm not sure where Adele would fit into the whole equation. Maybe she represents the middle ground between them?
Adele is miles above both of them.
Taylor is probably second.
Some of her lyrics are so stupid though that I find offputting.
But she is still better than Gaga who is very overrated by her fans imo.
