The fact that you're all whining about it
Don't yo know the Hot 100 represents the overall popularity of a track? Youtube clearly is a big factor in a song's popularity not?
Then this rule mostly help the biggest Pop acts that most of us stan for here on ATRL as they are the ones that get major views so calm down cause I bet you will rejoice for the #1s that'll come!

I like the new rule, but not that Harlem Shake is one while PSY wasn't.

But wait, Youtube are global. This means that the Hot 100 won't be exclusevely focused in the Hot 100. It shouldn't be like that. If there were any way of seeing only USA views it would be alright.

They count US-only views. They've said it already on Twitter.

Ok, thank you. I happy with the new rule because Youtube is a big factor in songs success. Although horrible songs like Harlem Shake or Baby can hit 1 (like HS did).
I just imagine people in a future wanting to know which songs were so "good" that they debuted in 1 and then they see "Halem Shake". Lately the songs which debuted at 1 are so bad.

I'm okay with the rule change, KIND OF. They need to lower YouTube's influence and also only include official audio and video, not parodies and lyric videos from random YouTube users.

I wonder how many weeks GS would have been #1? That thing was pulling in 10m+ a day for months. I wonder how many months HS will be #1 considering this one really just exploded this very week? Coming for One Sweet Day?
