Are Bauuer, PSY, fun., Carly Rae Jespen, and Gotye established? All of these artists benefited from huge YouTube phenomenons. If anything, this rule REALLY helps those type of artists.

To be fair, I really don't know anybody who legally downloads.

But now that streaming has been added to the chart, what me and most people I know listen to will actually make an influence.

But I was thinking, what about mixtape tracks? Like if a popular rapper like Lil Wayne releases a mixtape, the songs usually get lots of Youtube views, so does this mean mixtape songs might chart? Even if not in the actual Hot 100, surely some would appear in the lower regions of the R&B/hip hop songs chart?

All those artists (expect gotye/fun) are viral smashes from Music Videos. You really think without a good video/song will make them go #1? Stay just jumped to #3.. Ridiculous.

This means dev's flawless Bass down Low could have charted higher

It doesn't matter if the video is "good" or not. They are lyric videos and things like that.

If people like the song enough, it will be listened to a lot on YT.

Some people said CMM's video was basic, but look at it now.

How much will this count towards the chart? Like % wise. And what do radio and sales count for now?

I dont even know how to interpret this shade, but all R&B artists are ****ed. You sister Miguel is ****ed. Their main department is airplay. Even if they also get some good digital downloads, they will never be able to compete in the streaming/youtube.
