Agreed, but the extent to which they're including them is insane. Especially the fact that they're counting parodies.
Also think about the implications for the variety of songs on the charts. This is only beneficial to pop stars (who make flashy videos) and stupid viral songs. People watching a YT video doesn't necessarily say they love the song, but that the video keeps their attention/their friends told them to watch it etc. More alt acts are going to have a hard time competing. Of course I'm biased because I love ND, but I don't see how it's fair to an act like them who are perfectly happy with simple videos like Settle Down. Surely SD would've peaked way lower than it did if it had that much competition from popular videos.
IMO including Spotify-type streaming was good enough.
