Fergie is the Dutchess of the Aussie Week 2
Fergie still rocks, Akon joins the charts
20th August 2007, 12:15 WST
The Australian singles chart welcomes just one newcomer this week, as Fergie continues to rule the charts. US RnB artist Akon steps up to tenth place with Don’t Matter, just in time for his Australian tour kicking of later this month.
The remaining nine are familiar with placement in the top ten.
The albums chart, on the other hand, has opened the doors to four fresh faces.
The King has risen to number four, up from 22, the album on high rotation as the world mourned the 30th anniversary of the death Elvis Presley last week.
Australian songbird Katie Noonan debuted at number six with her latest release Skin.
Jetting in from a successful US tour, Australian blues and roots act The John Butler Trio have climbed five spots to number nine.
Good Charlotte twins Benji and Joel Madden slip into the album chart in tenth place.
The top two stay static, but Paul Potts edges up to take out bronze.
Michael Buble’s position has slipped as has Mika and Powderfinger to make way for the newbies.
