The son of pop icon Madonna has upset the people of Medellín, Colombia after posting a photo of the city and labeling it the “cocaine center of Columbia.”
Rocco Ritchie, 12, is the son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie. His Instagram account is set to private. but his 7,584 followers were able to see the photo and its now-controversial labeling. A promoter for Medellín, Luis Guillermo Sossa, said, “It is outrageous that this is happening…and if that’s what he believes, is mother should say something. It is an insult to the city that has been so hospitable to her.” Rocco referring to the city as the “cocaine center” was not the only insult. Apparently the well-traveled child does not know how to spell the country’s name either, as he called it “Columbia.”
Though many are demanding an apology, neither Rocco nor Madonna have made any public comments on the matter.
He's only 12 and he said it (as stupid as it was) on his private instagram account. While I reckon he should apologize for it, I don't see how any of this is reflected on Madge.
