Eminem was the biggest star of the last decade... Hell I'd even say that BEP were bigger (especially in the final 2 years)
Female artist yea she's probably the biggest, but not of all since Eminem and BEP were much larger imo.
Christina wouldn't have had more success, I can't imagine Britney affecting her sales at all.

Trust me sis, I'm ready to take Christina out of my trinity. What's the point in stanning for someone who never does promo, has no candids, doesn't communicate with the fans, probably doesn't even know her own damn single schedule, and it's not like she's selling to the point of "Well who cares that there's really nothing to stan for. At least she's slayin'!" Because she isn't slaying. She's FLOPPING. It was cute in the bionic era and 2011 when we all thought she'd come back and do a little better. I'm not about to sit here and defend and stan for someone who clearly doesn't give a damn about her career nor her fans. And it's not like I didn't already find you as a delusional ass hater.

what? lmao. Atleast i do respect her and (still secretly has a soft spot for her) If you look at my posts, i always show my love for britney, its just her stans who capitalize everything so

look, i dont really hate an artist for real. that was only trolling and stuff. Im not pressed if someone is more successful than Legend X. Its because we accept and do not assume. We all know the current situation and it looks like you just want to see the rose colored glasses. Stanning is not about the success and fame of the artist, its about not giving up in your fave in any situation.
and YES take her out of her trinity. that was only for validation. its a good thing to take out some trash in our stanbase .

Marginally talented female artists who get by far on sex appeal would not be possible. Teen pop stars dressing sexy would not be a trend.

Those who deny Britney's influence in pop culture/music are the same the people that dislike her, so I'm not surprised.
Britney was 100x bigger than all the the other pop girls.
Thanks to Britney Atrl was created. So like it or not, y'all are on Brit's territory.
Katy Perry, Lana, Rihanna & Gaga have names Britney as an influence. 100% true sources exist.

Pop culture and pop music are NOT synonymous.

Flawless post.

Anyway, X still would not have been successful. Britney or no Britney, X-tina is looked upon as a complete Bitch, and that sadly effects her sales.

The ignorance. Xtina is successful, her current flop doesn't take away her previous successes.

As much as I love Britney, csybeyking is right. Taylor, maybe you should stop stanning for Christina because you only stan for success. No one is stopping you.

The Britney vs Xtina fight was part of their success. If the press hadn't paid all the attention they paid, Xtina would have never been as interesting as she was when she came out. I also doubt the teen solo artists would've been that successful without Britney.

If Britney had never existed, music would have never been so interesting in the past decade.

Britney set the standard for the modern female pop star. The industry would be completely different if she never came along.

No a real fan isn't gonna stand by and watch their fave self destruct. If Christina doesn't care, why the hell should I?
It honestly isn't about success, it's about her showing an interest in her own craft. And if she won't, I won't.

Ahh, this is the mix up that most stans of artists who aren't currently successful seem to have. Just because the girls I stan for are CURRENTLY successful, that doesn't mean that's the only reason I stan.

Britney has inspired those who came after her – but she hasn't influenced them by a large means.
Erasing Madonna from history would have a far larger outcome on today than erasing Britney.

But what does that have to do with this thread.

Some were saying that Britney set the standard for the modern pop star.
In my opinion, Madonna raised the bar and Britney solidified it in the 21st century. Everyone else followed. Britney inspired the artists of today's generation because she took what Madonna did and put her own stamp on things in a modern context. Hence Britney is known as the "Princess of Pop" while people refer to Madonna as the "Queen".

LEt me re-phrase. IF Brit was not around, X-tina would not have reached the level of success that Britney has reached.
Nor will she ever reach the level of success that Britney has reached. Solely examining her last two efforts, it is clear that X-tina's attempts at commercial success have failed.

That can't really be known either way though. If Britney wasn't around, she could have been less successful, but she could have easily been more successful. Or just as successful. We can't really know.

Well we don't know exactly what's going on with Christina. An artist can lose interest if the political/label situation isn't healthy.
Did you abandon Britney when she was in her self destructive period?

Without Britney, a lot of weaves would've never been snatched. That's all.

First, that's the point. It's up to Xtina to let us know what's happening. Second, referring to your question about Britney - Of course NOT. Britney was clearly going through MANY personal struggles YET that didn't stop her from at least trying with her music career. She produced a mini tour by HERSELF. She took it upon herself to find dancers and costumes and choreography and everything. With little to no label support. And what Christina has going on is incomparable to what Britney went through. So all this "The Label won't support Xtina" talk is ********.
