If Britney Had Never Existed...
Since Britney was the biggest star of the decade and was our resident white, blonde, popstar, and Christina was never quite in first place, if she never existed would Christina have been bigger then she already was? Would she have had less success? Would her career be in the same place it is now?

Rihanna, Katy and possibly Gaga would not be where they were. Beyonce wouldn't be the artist/performer she is now as well. Also, Christina would not be as big as she is right now if it were not for Britney. SHe'd also possibly have different music and be more R&B. Somebody else would have been first, maybe a band or a guy.

But not you guys almost blatantly ignoring Christina when this is more of an Xtina thread then a Britney one. She really can't catch a break

Vocals would be apart of the standard for female pop singers. Xtina would have led the teen pop craze with Jessica Simpson taking over Xtina's spot and Mandy Moore taking over Jessica's spot. Xtina's career would've been less try-hard and she would actually be the Voice of a Generation rather than being somebody that we used to know.

Beyonce is in no way influenced by Britney nor is Britney a pioneer for Bey. You tried though...

Please tell me you're trolling. Britney didn't open ANY doors for them. Every artist you listed would still be who they are today with or without Britney Spears.

I am not trolling... maybe I was wrong with Bey but not for the others. Britney set the standard as the "ultimate pop star", and each of them have been obviously influenced by Britney Jean in one way or another.

GaGa is arguable...wasn't Britney the only(or most) notable artist she wrote music for before she came into prominence??

...Says who? Britney has always been deemed as a joke, even in her prime. When people think of the "ultimate pop star" I assure you they would think of respectable talented artists like Madonna, Janet & Whitney.

Pop culture/music would never be the same!
Those who deny Britney's influence in pop culture/music are the same the people that dislike her, so I'm not surprised.
Britney was 100x bigger than all the the other pop girls.
Thanks to Britney Atrl was created. So like it or not, y'all are on Brit's territory.
Katy Perry, Lana, Rihanna & Gaga have names Britney as an influence. 100% true sources exist.

Christina's still seen as The Voice Of A Generation though, even if a few people disagree.
I don't think Beyonce was severely influenced by Britney but I wouldn't rule it out completely. Britney's popularity I think is what helped make Survivor in part a REALLY pop album

Christina would have been an adult contemporary singer, and so would all the other similar teen females soon after. Before Britney there wasn't any female pop artists who were marketed to teens, and they were all groups.
But if it wasn't for Britney, there would be another pop female artist to appear on the scene, Britney just came at the perfect time.

Lol.... No point of arguing with you, as you're a Britney hater. When you think of POP STAR, you think of BRITNEY SPEARS. She set standards as what a pop star should be like. She had all the definitions of the "ultimate pop star", minus vocals.

Yes, Britney did come at the perfect time. But pop culture still would be vastly different if it weren't for Britney Spears being on the scene.

But I dont think its about ignoring her, but about her having minimal impact.
They both came out around the same time and Christina was already recording her album before Britney came out. Not to mention Reflection actually came out first.
Thats like saying Rihanna influenced Lady Gaga, Kesha, and Katy Perry from this generation because she came out first.
It probably affected her marketing, but musically she was going for a more R&B sound. Most of her debut isnt even that pop.
