There is no shift away - 1/5 of the current Hot 100 is dance-pop/electro-infused - it's just diffused into a norm. And given there haven't been that many new dance-pop releases this past quarter (due to traditional seasonality), that's quite good.
Overall, dance-pop/electro/EDM has had some major recent major developments: Sony and Ultra Records combining, Universal Republic/Cash Money and their new mass signings, Capitol Records new A&R team, the new ClearChannel radio stations, Billboard's new dance chart, etc.
