Those wacky morning guys at CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WRVW (1075 THE RIVER)/NASHVILLE have stirred it up again. CC/NASHVILLE OM and RIVER PD RICH DAVIS fills ALL ACCESS in:
"Shortly after 1a TUESDAY (8/7), morning guy "INTERN ADAM" found himself behind a black MERCEDES in the drive-through line at McDONALD'S. Clearly enjoying herself singing 'Glamorous' by FERGIE, and dancing in her car was former AMERICAN IDOL sweetheart and Country star KELLIE PICKLER.
"When ADAM got up to the window, the McDONALD'S guy said "Did you see KELLIE PICKLER ... she was hammered' (allegedly). Well, ADAM reported what he appeared to see yesterday morning during his 57- seconds of sleaze and ignited a firestorm of controversy. To make things right, KELLIE was invited in to set the record straight and spent about 20 minutes on the air with WOODY, JIM and ADAM this morning, at one point becoming very emotional. All's well that ends well, though, as KELLIE let us know she hadn't had more than half a drink and was just having fun."
Here's Intern Adam's take on the situation:
"So, I pulled into McDonalds for a late night meal around 12:30am early Tuesday morning. I'm behind a black Mercedes convertible, and notice it's Kellie Pickler with a guy that resemble Jordan Tootoo from the Nashville Predators. Kellie, who was driving, was bouncing up and down arms waving in the air and screaming into the drive thru speaker. Kellie then cranks up Fergies song Glamorous and puts the car in park to sit up in the car and spell out the letters like a cheerleader. In true Pickler style she had her "s" backwards and missed the "o" in the spell out. Obviously this girl has had tooo much to drink and shouldn't be behind the wheel of her car. Didn't she learn anything form Blowhan??? Anyhow, I pull up to the window and the man who served her her double cheeseburger said, "man, did you see her? she was hammered." Unfortunately, it was too dark and none of my camera phone pictures turned out. Could she be Nashville's own Lindsay Lohan???
All this of course was just the perspective of two outsiders me and the drive thru guy. The only people that know if she was for sure intoxicated are Kellie herself and the dude in the car. Kellie called in this morning to clear up any misunderstanding. Which is what it ultimately turned out to be. I am MORE than happy that I was wrong, because I'd hate to see anything happen to such a beautiful and talented young lady. "
