I actually think the song was released in a great time but honestly I think that video ruins the impact of the song.
The song is so strong yet that video is sooo bleh
Still Kelly's best IMO. One of the best beats Guetta has ever created. I really wish Kelly had properly promoted this and released that Dance album in Europe. I really think it would have smashed. But she's concentrated on the US now.
To be fair, we wouldn't have Turn Me On without this track (both behind-the-scenes and sonically), so I'm glad it came out and performed poorly all-things-considered, as it paved the way for Nicki to smash hard. But it's a classic.
Kelly Rowland needs to stop messing about and just get on with a bloody dance album. Tracks like Motivation can still sit on the tracklist, but she can easily be an EDM queen, plus her limitations as an artist are well disguised over a hard dance beat, so...
Not at all but it is one of my personal favourite dance songs and it deserved to destroy careers, which it did in the UK and Europe apparently but it literally got no recognition in the US
No, dance music was already popular in the US then. Kelly just doesn't have a big name here and they made the mistake of pushing that "urban" remix of the song with Nelly stateside when they should have stuck to the original.
Kelly SET the trend for dance songs that came after, look to Only Girl and how huge it was.
Not the first time either, When Love Takes Over should have been bigger, We Found Love is a clone of it.
A trendsetter because it was such a huge hit and everyone heard it right?
Like what makes you think that Rihanna and Stargate have even heard that song NOW let alone 2 years ago when it was released and Only Girl was produced.
