It's normal for consoles and handhelds to have a slow start. Even the 3DS looked like it would be a flop, but look at the slayage it's causing left and right now
The Vita has been flopping for too long now and it probably won't see the light of commercial succes anytime soon, unless Sony has a master plan involving the PS4 with it (bundles?

)
Luckily, the Wii U has a monstrous future ahead. 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Wii Fit U, Smash Brothers, a 6th generation Pokémon Stadium etc.
So yeah, it's pretty obvious which one is the bigger flop
