The Originals: The Vampire Diaries Spinoff | Picked up!
The Original family of vampires will remain intact in their leap from The Vampire Diaries to their own series, planted spinoff The Originals. Claire Holt has been cast as a lead in Originals, which will be introduced in the April 25 episode of the CW drama. She will reprise her recurring TVD role as Rebekah, the vampire sister of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). The trio represents
all surviving Original siblings as their two other brothers recently faced their demise on TVD
. Holt had been rumored to join The Originals from the get-go, but I’d heard talks hit a snag and TVD‘s Phoebe Tonkin was signed for the potential spinoff instead. Now Holt, who just signed with CAA, becomes the fourth cast member of the original series to transition to the spinoff. Source
That last bit is interesting. Glad they're shipping all the Originals off. Now they can go back to the core group and give me more Caroline.
So does this mean the Originals are leaving the show for good at the end of Season 4?
This comes to show the CW is desperate to milk TVD for as long as they can.
This doesn't sound like a good idea but I guess it's good to know they won't be a focus on VD. Maybe they'll finally have a show after Vampire Diaries that does decently.

YES!! me too. I literally paused the show everything time he came up to just embrace his beauty. and that smirk and accent are so effin adorable they really should add him cause even his character is interesting
Umm, if there's a spin-off with The Originals, what's going to happen on TVD?? Without the Originals what drama is going to happen or what's going to be the premise? Are they still going to be on that show and their own or what, this is confusing and strange?!
