I don't understand why people say she's gotten better?
I mean she's had a few bad vocal performances before but she's sung just as well if not better in older performances. I think people just need to realize that if you do sing live, all the time, you're going to have more hits/misses than someone who only sings live on their good days.

People only say she's "gotten better" because they aren't very familiar with her performances. Tonight was the first time that many people saw her in a different light, singing a vocally-driven song instead of an uptempo bop.
I could list like 10 Rihanna performances better than this one, but I'm just glad that people are starting to recognize her talent.
Yes, I think she did great, but there are so many better performances from other performers like Carrie Underwood, Maroon 5 + Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlae + JayZ, Ed Sheeran + Elton John, Fun., and Kelly Clarkson.
Stay is a very boring song though, can't really get into it.
