This. Its not that I hate feminine guys its just that they can sometimes just be really obnoxious and loud and it can be incredibly annoying, just because you are gay it doesn't mean you have to act like that. Alot of gay guys just put that whole image on...I like men so I want to be with/hang aroung guys who act like men.

Internalized male femophobia. Homophobes have made gays hate a huge part of their community just like racists have made many blacks hate their skin and natural hair. I feel it's no different..what's funny is people who hate feminine males (I don't use the term flamer, it's ugly, offensive, and stems from hate) are trying to impress the very same homophobes who try to infringe on their rights, instead of actually tackling the root problem which is educating and enlightening homophobes and femophobes. They become as ignorant as them.. If you can't beat em join em.

Misleading much?
There's no concerted effort to silence fems as you make it seem. And the sentiments you speak of have always existed, though you make it seem like being a queen was once a trend every gay guy aspired to follow lol. Odd.

Some feminine gays are totally cool. But some are overly obnoxious just because.
At the BTWB, there was this guy behind me in the Monster Pit who would not shut his ****ing mouth. "Yasss!" "Work bitch!" "Twerk!" "You're fabulous!" every damn minute. I wanted to turn around and beat his ****ing face in. There's NO REASON to be so annoying

it doesn't mean you have to act like what? Being gay doesn't mean you have to act like anything. The gay community needs to stop trying single out certain sub groups. [and in not saying you are but the way you worded this would lead me to think] straight people come in so many different shapes and sizes. Fat people, skinny people, bitchy people, obnoxious people, sociopaths, masculine people, feminine people, funny people. Why can't gay people just be themselves without some saying the way they portray themselves is an act? Plenty of masculine gays put it on as an act but I don't knock it, it's their prerogative. To me doesn't matter if you act masculine or not. I like good people period so I'd hang out with any chill person.

Also, what a lot of people don't like about queens isn't so much to do with their femininity, but more so the way they (some, not all) carry themselves; loud, obnoxious, attention-whoring,etc. And those traits are unattractive whether you're a queen, a heterosexual frat guy, or a narcissistic teenage girl who thinks she's the queen of the world.

Only by those gays who are not comfortable in themselves and who feel the need to justify their masculinity by looking down on others who are not plagued by the same feelings of inferiority and self-doubt. What we find fault with in others is usually what's bothering us about ourselves.
I love flamboyant gays. They're oftentimes a lot funner because they're so much less inhibited and don't feel the need to censor themselves, and I actually think that it takes way bigger balls to do what they do and to transmit that frequency than it does for a "straight"-acting, fem-bashing gay guy to do what it is that he does. Not that I have anything against guys who genuinely are straight-acting, though, as long as they're cool with every other type of gay person.

Because I'm sure it's EVERY fem guys dreams to be in bed with you what does being sexually attracted to someone have to do with respecting them? Because you're not attracted to females, you look down upon them?

Even if they were straight, I would hate to hang out with someone loud and obnoxious but when it comes to feminine guys who use make up and act like a girl then that's just too much

THIS.
I'm not feminine, but just because you are still embarrassed and insecure about being gay, doesn't mean fems are DELIBERATELY trying to act feminine. Why can't that just be THE WAY THEY ARE?? People come in all different shapes and sizes; and no one ever says anything about straight guys acting too straight.... like seriously; wake up.

There's nothing wrong with being feminine, it's not even worth discussion. The stigma comes from people who are so over the top they cross the line into being a public nuisance.

I've never really liked queens that act more feminine than girls, it just makes me cringe. I don't think it's the fact of being feminine that's the issue, it's more the fact that there's the stereotype that most feminine gay guys are loud, obnoxious and egotistical. I know of many.

Some people are so quick to toss out this excuse for these types of things. It's not a self hate issue. If someone doesn't like another's personality then that's just that. Gay is not a personality.

Perfect response
And the ones saying "I don't hate them, just the way they act", can't even see the irony in their statement. Take out the "feminine gay" context and put in "gay" period, and you have the same statement anti-gay individuals make everyday to try to denounce, as they say, the 'gay lifestyle' and reason why LGBT people don't deserve equal rights

This has always been a problem in the gay community unfortunately.
