I think it'll be just fine if it does well on radio. If it doesn't have a radio deal I see it peaking at #1 on the Hot 100 later in its run, as opposed to debuting there.

Radio deals for big releases have become the norm. Gaga isn't going without one; that's for certain. The problem is that the radio deal won't deal an effect for the debut sales week, so she will chart early. However, the rolling effect for the following week would be massively negative. The simple way to fix that would be to pull a JT and use only a 1-day radio deal. Or she could go all out with a full week deal but withhold radio release until a Wednesday.

That wouldn't work, as radios are at the liberty to play what they want if it's available and released. And they wouldn't be able to facilitate a deal on Wednesday unless the song itself were released on Wednesday.

Well, I still think it will do fine. See, I think people are under the assumption that it will just drop like a rock with a radio deal and then never recover; that's not necessarily the case. I have a feeling this era could be big - that feeling being helped, of course, by the apparent increase in EDM's popularity in the US.

Well, the thing is, the only song with a radio deal that proved to be a legitimate radio hit has been "We Are Never..." Other songs, like "Dance Again," "Give Me All Your Luvin'," and "Born This Way" (which DID make it to number one on Radio Songs, but was almost instantly dropped from rotation after that), failed to make a lasting impact. Honestly, I don't even hear any of them anymore.

But yeah, there's a reason people would think that. Radio deals tend to burn songs out a lot faster than what a natural climb would bring.

Truth of the matter is, only YOU can judge the product. You don't know what chicken fried would taste like, you can imagine it I suppose, but until you try it will you really know if you like it or not. I simply cannot get exited about all these details any more. They really shed like... NO LIGHT on the whole album as a whole either, the info is vague as ****.
