Now that I think of it, maybe they will award WANEGBT to make up for the fact that one of pop's most prominent producers has never won a Grammy. Perhaps that's why it's up for Record + not Song.

I think it's a very smart, self aware and pointed song, tho it's not my taste really style-wise.
As for backlash, she'll get it whether she wins or not. If she does the outcry will be bigger probably, but when she loses they always seem to focus on her as the loser vs the other nominees or even the winner.
Case in point, the overblown reaction to her face at the GG. She didn't even look mad, just disappointed, and it was just a single shot. She very likely smiled as well. And even if she showed disappointment, she's not the first big star to do so when having lost a big award.
And my personal opinion, S&S was a better song. And it should have been in the actual movie when Rue died.
