#1 doesn't equal success to me. She will sell albums. She doesn't need to come up with a trendy track for a number one. She's going to be successful with this project regardless. My fav first single by Beyonce is actually Deja Vu, while it wasn't #1 it was still successful and a damn good song that many favs could never pull off.
