I found this blog post which I found highly insightful, and I'd like to discuss what are ATRL's perceptions about the concept of "heterophobia".

That I’m still a debate and my attraction is subject to everyone’s opinion. We. Are. Not. Equal.

By believing in the fantasy that is heterophobia you start to dismiss homophobia. Because you think that someone on the internet saying straight sex is gross is the same thing as what we face. You try to equate your minor bafflement which is quickly forgotten to a system of oppression. You are trying to erase other people’s suffering. And that makes you a homophobe. I don’t care how much you stand for equality, when you start diminishing our experiences (and you are, no matter what you think) with this vile, persistent and widely accepted hatred, you are being a homophobe.

When straight people start killing themselves because every day they hear that they’re an abomination or disgusting or that they’re just another opinion to be voted on or discussed like some moral debate, and that killing people for being straight is a real threat that they face, then you can come to me about heterophobia. But until that happens, shut up and check your privilege.

Assuming that straight people are homophobic from the start and being wary in order to keep yourself safe is not ~heterophobia~ Sorry if someone hurt your straight feelings because they were looking out for themselves. Hell, people talking about how gross straight sex is or something is still not even close to the homophobia we face. Because y’all can just go back and turn on a TV or look at all of your role models and pretty much any random person on the street who will attest that that isn’t the case.

Now repeat it after me: Heterophobia is not real.

Do you think there is such a thing as "heterophobia" in the same sense as "homophobia"? Do you think straight people can really be oppressed in the same way as gay people are?

NOTE: It seems many people are assuming the blog post and I are agreeing that heterophobia exists. This is NOT the case. Please take the time to actually read the blog post and then make your judgements, instead of rushing to call someone stupid because you only read the title (ironic).

I might get 'cool' points off for this but I believe when it comes to racism it can comes from all spectrum. It's based on a majority of people who decide to pick on and/or oppress a minority.
I do think the volume of racism that goes on from race to race is very different. Don't get me wrong on that angle, I still think that people of any color still get more remarks made about them then any white person. This is not what this thread is about however.

Phobia-
I think its possible a homosexual could form a phobia to the hetero .. possibly.. maybe?

However straight people saying they have 'problems' compared to homosexuals in terms of marriage and bullying? No, that would be like a Caucasian person complaining because he/he wants to sit in the back in the 50's.

No. Heterosexual people are not oppressed. Meanwhile, I get people who judge me everyday. Last night I yelled at a girl because she was gossiping with her friend about how gay I was. Like, bitch swerve. It's so annoying and stupid; it's also one of the things I hate most. When people hate on me for my sexuality it pisses me off like nothing else.
