Do your faves have any planned or scrapped albums or their album's original concept that they wanted in mind but got scrapped and stuck in Development Hell, because the record label wanted a commericial success?

Britney's self titled 3rd album was originally supposed to be all songs written by her but when she filmed Crossroads her label turned it into a Crossroads soundtrack with some of the songs Britney wrote

the album was supposed to sound like

Let Me Be
Before the Goodbye
I Run Away
When I Found You
She'll Never Be Me
When I Say So
Mad Love
Am I A Sinner

and Femme Fatale was supposed to sound like Don't Keep Me Waiting and He About to Lose Me, but because of Jive going bankrupt they scrapped the concept for FF and turned it into a pop record

Beyonce had planned a second solo album right after DIL but she scrapped it and started working with DC again ... I was so sad

Since Britney's were already mentioned:

Nicki's debut album was supposed to sound way different than what Pink Friday is. It had a sound like Massive Attack, and she had a song Married in the Club that was going to be released, but never saw the light of day after Massive Attack flopped.

Die Life was supposed to be what Electra Heart is. It would have been the songs written early for EH like Living Dead, Sex Yeah, Starring Role, etc. and then also the unreleased Scab and Plaster? I think it would have been better than what EH turned out to be, but oh well.

Mariah's Memoirs remix album was scrapped.

I'm still so interested in what happened to that entire album, hopefully some of those songs will see the light of day.

Angels Advocate wouldve been bliss full of features and rnb remixes. I was here for it, sadly nobody else was.

Like Luigi mentioned, Bionic had a lot of the edgier songs like Monday Morning and Birds Of Prey taken off because the label wanted her to work with those urban producers

I believe Glitter was supposed to be a double album

Rihanna scrapped re-release to "Loud"
Ciara scrapped triple disc set to "Fantasy Ride"
Amy Winehouse scrapped her third studio album after her label rejected the material

Didn't Rihanna scrapped her fourth album with songs like Sexuality (my jam) to record Rated R (my album)

Rihanna - "Dark Angels" was meant for release in 2008, but she chose to re-release Good Girl Gone Bad.
