Generally, Apples tend to stay intact for years upon years. I mean, you'd probably want a newer Mac 4 years later but my PC actually quit on me after that time period as opposed to me just wanting the latest model.
PC, I don't do anything involving art or music so why would I pay over a grand on a machine so I could write papers, go on atrl, facebook, tumblr, and reddit and listen to spotify. I'd rather spend my money on concert tickets and trips and I do. Plus I like windows OS more.
It has all the programs and games. It even has Splash Pro EX, the best video player you'll ever use which gives stunning video playback quality that no other video players can rival. Try it if you want to know what I'm talking about. You'll never find that on Mac. And Windows is very cuztomizeable. I can change the look and feel not just of my desktop but of the whole interface to a Mac, Ubuntu, Android, or anything. And if you want the best performance, get a highend Windows laptop with the latest i7 Extreme processor, Nvidia GPU and 16GB RAM. I doubt it will still lag and crash. And you can also run Mac on a PC with Hackintosh.
I'm happy with my macbook pro, and I can always use Windows on it with virtual machine. Unlike PCs, Macs are powerful enough to handle multiple operating systems working simulatenously.
Well the Mac's look classier and I heard that you don't get vyruses as it happens with the other laptops, I'd love one but they're hella expensive here, I've seen them at $2,5000 dls!!!
I got my first Mac (MBP) a few weeks ago, and I'm really happy with it so far. You'll adjust to the different operating system in no time, and it is pretty amazing. If your focus is on work/school or arts, a Mac is the ideal solution for you. And from what I've seen, it'll last a long time, so it's a good investment.
But if you're also planning on using a laptop for games, then a PC is your best choice, for sure.
you can get a PC for a price similar or less that has more features, is a stronger investment, and is more future proof (in that you can upgrade the Ram and such).
You can upgrade your ram and hdd's in whatever computer you have.
