Of course Pigrez would chime in. ^
I understand the article though. The drop started after BTW was released, and while I think it was a good album it was clearly divisive among those who just wanted another Bad Romance/Pokerface. That plus all the buildup hype, the under performing (and terribly selected) singles didn't do anything to sustain that. In the end it was a slippery slope or Gaga hype fatigue and no standout songs for the GP to latch onto.
And while she was able to keep her name afloat in the press the past 2 years, it none of it was particularly related to her music- it was just more celebrity noise. Additionally, I find very few people are paying attention to Gaga's tour outside of her own fanbase. I've had friends ask me where Gaga's been, and I have to tell them that she's been on tour the past year but they wouldn't have known about it otherwise.
While I've advocated for Gaga taking her time with ARTPOP, I think she needs to step outside the bubble of her tour and her indulgent fanbase and give the world a little musical something to remind them she's still kicking. Maybe a BTW concert show to give the GP a look into a huge spectacular of a tour that had been going under their radar, or maybe a release date for a single, or even some press about the upcoming record? (although I understand he apprehension at overhyping it, especially with Zedd's recent words on how slow the process was going)
