If size was the reason for sales why other non-skinny girls can't sell?
I don't see other overweight girls shifting 20m+ just because they are not skinny.

Adele is way better overall. And the whole weight excuse needs to stop, she appeals to a wide audience. If you're trying to say she only appeals to overweight folks, that isn't true. I'm no where near being overweight, I'm in great shape actually. And many of the people I know who like Adele aren't big neither. It's time you accept that people love Adele for her music and voice.
ADELE makes music for adults, Taylor records C0UNTRY music, which appeals to the young genrations. This's one of many reasons why ADELE is more successful both critically and commercially.

Adele's music is more mature, but it's not just for adults. Literally every generation loves her music, hence the success.
Country music is not for younger audiences, on the contrary, it's for older audiences.
Taylor Swift does not make country music. At most she's ever been is country-pop, now she is complete pop.
After the Grammy domination, the Adele bandwagonning began... a huge proportion of her 'stans' only like her because she's 'undraggable, critically acclaimed, commercially successful and everyone apparently loves her'. I'm not saying I hate her... but I know a lot of people who claim themselves to be stans yet the only songs they know from her are RITD, SLY & SFTTR

Adele's music comes from someone who lost something and is moving on with class, maturity, and grace. Someone who understands that while the person they lost was the love of their life, life moves on and so should she. Adele accepts the heartbreak and the past for what it is and doesn't dwell on it because she knows good things will come her way once again. "Never mind, I'll find someone like you."
Taylor on the other hand, her music comes from a place of insecurity and immaturity. She has this mindset that a boyfriend is the most important thing in life, and that if she doesn't have one, there's no possible way of being happy. When she likes a boy and he doesn't like her back, she gets upset and even often times attacks the girl the boy does like. "She's an actress but she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress." She lives in a fantasy world where the boy you like must like you back, otherwise he's an evil person who deserves verbal bashing. However, I do agree that her music has progressed and she does seem to be growing up, albeit slowly, but she still has a ways to go. She needs to stop playing the victim every time a relationship doesn't work. She needs to look inside herself and ask why the relationships she's been in never work. Maybe she's the problem? Maybe she needs to change something and realize it is not always the man's fault.
At the end of the day, they both pander to a specific audience. Taylor has the emotional teenage girls who are in that "I want a fairy tale romance relationship" phase, while Adele has the older women who find Adele's music as inspiration for moving on from a relationship that meant a lot to them.

Adele's work is written from a much more mature tone.
Critics can't align themselves with the teenage perspective in Taylor's work so obviously see more in Adele's work.
Plus Adele is the much better vocalist and writer.
