Well Jlo was the FIRST A-list celeb to judge a singing competition so yes everyone who came after her including Shakira did copy her. Don't act as if Shakira's management didn't see what Idol did for Jlo and now they are following suite hoping it would do the same for Shakira in the US where basically nobody gives a hoot about her anymore.
Idol has done anything to save JLO's musical career because she's back to square one. Lord Shakia doesn't need the US. I mean, who needs the US when you've sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and only 9.9 million copies come from the US? She has the rest of the world to support her.
