In "Love the Way You Lie" and "Take Care" Rihanna only does the chorus -- 'Just gonna stand there and watch me burn...' / 'I know you've been hurt by...' ....that's WAY less than what Britney does in "Scream & Shout." You do realize the first 50 seconds or so are all Britney doing her verse -- not to mention her "Britney, bitch" and BGs during the chorus? The only song Rihanna features on where she plays a major role is 'Live You Life.' And LTWYL is bigger than Rihanna's hits!
And who cares if S&S becomes her biggest hit. Doesn't this reflect Britney's longevity? The fact that she can keep topping herself year after year? Times change -- Britney's first single was 14 YEARS AGO...obviously with today's promotional tactics, inflated radio airplay and one-click downloads - her old work is going to get topped statistically (and easily).
Y'all should be use to this after 'I Wanna Generic' started toppling some of Britney's records.
LMAO, I'm starting to think it's karma for all the shade we through last year.
I wouldn't even care if it was a good song like MLJ anyway and actually had Britney singing a lot but neither of those things happened.
CaptainMeltdown sit your ass downE. No one was checking for Xtina's verse on MLJ....however, radios do turn up when this comes: "YOU ARE NOW, NOW ROCKIN' WITH, will.i.am and BRITNEY, BITCH."
Without "Britney, bitch" that beat drop is NON-EXISTENT and remains an unreleased track no one will ever hear from Tulisa's flop album.

Yes, I'm aware that times have changed but why did it have to be THAT song, a FEATURE, that's her biggest hit since BOMT?
It's better than over 70% of songs from Britney's last three albums -- at the very least. This is more groundbreaking than anything Britney's done since "Toxic:"
Too vocally challenging for Britney though. In addition, this is better than arguably any Britney song:
Out of the fire that burns inside me, a phoenix is rising
If you don't feel that you can love me, I won't shoot you down
I won't cry for all the hunger in my heart, no
No, I won't cry because I've stumbled through this far
It would have been perfect for Britney. PERFECT.
(Named the best pop song of the century by several publications before you start trashing it.)
Xenomania aren't as good as they used to be, not to mention 2 of the members that were apart of it that made their Girls Aloud songs and others so great, left the group in 2010. It says something when their best production post 2010, is All Fired Up by the freaking Saturdays. They show glimmers of former brilliance with Florrie, but that has more to do with Florrie herself than them.
So no..they can stay away
"All Fired Up" is perfect but it was wasted on a group whose only talent is degrading material.
"Something New" are "On the Metro" are both really good.

Why not Womanizer or TTWE?
THAT is my problem.
but would you rather have all of the success that S&S is getting, of just not have it, at all.
I think it's a win win for both. Will gets is US/Global hit and it helps Brit gain more hype in some countries she had been missing out on. AKA UK, Germany.
Did y'all know that the song is credited as "will.i.am & Britney Spears - Scream & Shout" on Billboard's Hot 100? So she has equal credit, as if it were a duet.

But in many cases, especially for "Womanizer," they WERE Britney's biggest songs since BOMT....at their TIME. You do realize that "Womanizer" is nearly 5 years ago?! Just because S&S is slaying on an other-worldly level doesn't discount that Britney had previous major singles.

Oh no, I would've rather S&S smash but not come near BOMT and Oops.
It was great at first but I've just had enough of the slayage now.

I've been saying for months that it's time for Britney the artist and not necessarily the popstar. She's 31 and needs to ditch the Lolita, baby-talk and start serving some substance with something more reflective of her life. I think she's headed in the right direction with Album 8 though.
No matter what, she won't please y'all suckas though. Britney's in a very awkward position since shes been around for so long...she has to please her young fans as well as those that have been with her since day one. She's too old to stick to the pop stuff, but too young to completely ditch the party music.
Let's see singles that use to cost $4 with the original song and a few additional lame remixes, compared to 99cent/$1.29 per download. The fact that BOMT did what it did with the price of what it cost at the time, I still use and respect.
