Carrie Underwood’s new single gives a sneak peek into her personal life.

The "American Idol" winner released her new single, "So Small," to country radio stations today and is hoping it tops the charts like her other hit singles, "Think Before he Cheats," "Wasted" and "Jesus Take the Wheel."

The 24-year-old musician had the following things to say about her new release:

"’So Small' is a feeling song on how people invest so much of their time and energy into things that aren't really important. And you don't really realize that until it's too late."

The all-American sweetheart even admits that she's guilty of focusing on the small things from time to time.

"And we're all guilty of it, as I know I am, of just letting silly things get in the way.

“The smallest thing can almost ruin my day, and at some point I realize, 'Good gracious, Carrie! What are you doing?'

“I have a great life, and we need to remember the things that are truly important."

Carrie's previous album, "Some Hearts," sold six million copies and earned her a number of awards, including the Grammy award for Best New Artist.

Carrie's upcoming album (which has not yet been named) will be released on October 23.

This isn't a hit. Maybe a country hit but not the best way to follow up a 6 million selling album.

Although I have never liked her previous singles, this one has called my attention.
In fact, it did fascinate me. The lyrics are full of both meaning and emotion.

That's wut I said. It's gonna be a country hit and nothing more. Bad decision.

I've heard the radio rip... it sounds pretty good from a first listen I have a feeling this will be another #1 on country, as well as being a pop and AC hit.

It's another classic from her. Her only sucky song is Inside Your Heaven and that wasn't an album single. She gets it right.

The song hit number 20 on the Billboard/R&R country airplay chart, marking the highest chart entry by a solo country female in Nielsen BDS history.
Penned by Underwood with Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey (who co-wrote three tracks on Underwood's debut disc, including the chart-topping "Wasted" and "Jesus, Take the Wheel"), "So Small" was this week's most-added new single at Billboard/R&R and Country Aircheck. Serviced to country radio last Monday, with an official airplay impact date of today, "So Small" is already spinning on 128 country reporting stations.
