Very tricky issue... in the US it seems there is no clear law about this, unlike most western countries. Some deeply catholic countries have liberal abortion laws like Italy, others like Ireland do not
Most muslim countries I believe are pro-life, while most ex communist countries are pro-choice, as women have had equal rights there for long.
Where do you stand?
Me and Ani are pro-choice:
Quote:
Life is sacred, life is also profane
A woman's life, must be hers to make
Choice is the only defensible and realistic option. You can't force somebody to carry a baby. Where they try to do that it just leads to very dangerous backstreet abortions or going abroad to have it carried out. Irish women just hop on the ferry to England.
Pro choice... I don't like the idea of abortion either, but if a woman is raped and gets pregnant, what are you going to do... make her give birth? And as far as consensual sex goes.... accidents happen, just learn from them next time.
There's really no other way than pro-choice. We shouldn't have a say in what other's do regarding their personal choices. I mean, what kind of meddling?
