What drags "Suit & Tie" down doesn't really have anything to do with Jay-Z or it being an R&B Song. What drags it down is that the song isn't particularly comeback material. It's very uneventful, and I don't see how it's any better than "Settle Down" by No Doubt or "Big Hoops" by Nelly Furtado. Justin needs something hard-hitting. "Suit & Tie" may be too mellow as a comeback single for someone who hasn't been on the charts as a lead artist in several years.

It needs promo. It's just not commercial enough, it's simple as that, and he dropped the single literally out of nowhere. No one knew that he was recording an album. We weren’t even sure that he was releasing a single when the countdown was posted. Skyrocketing to #1 within a few hours with your comeback single after 7 years is impressive, no matter how long he stayed at #1 (over 3 days.)
