+1. The thing is, nowadays singles can be released days after their announcement due to the popularisation of digital media. She doesn't have to announce it until ~a week before its release, meaning we won't find out until it's almost released.

What is the point of saying the album title 8 month before its release?. Even though she has not said anything about the music. The only thing we know is that it will be experimental .And honestly I am tired of waiting for an experimental songs that I might not even like. It is time for Gaga to step up her game or after some years the GP will not be here for her anymore. Give us 3 singles as big as Poker Face, Bad Romance and Alejandro and do as many as experimental songs you wish Gaga. WE WANT SOME SMASHES!!!!! She just said last night that she's taking some time to "recharge her batteries" and people think she's gonna release the album a week after the tour ends?

She has no control over which songs smash and which don't, meaning she can't "give" us smashes. She never said that ARTPOP would be experimental, she said the opposite actually, that the reason she's not doing an experimental version and a commercial version is because all of the songs are commercial. If you're tired of waiting, no one is forcing you to stick around. If you don't like waiting, then, like, go do something else with your life and come back in a few months.

she actually has said that the album is experimental and risky. And yes, she can give us smashes if she wants. Lets hope that with ARTPOP she will play a little bit more safe

Her tour is going to end this March, releasing first single on January or February is that TOO much? Unless ARTPOP will not be releasing in summer.

I don't think its GGD. Its the fact that she said ARTPOP would release in spring 2013/ early 2013. Given with BTW she anounced the lead single's release date 1 1/2 months prior to release and the album release date 5 months before release many were/are expecting her to do something similar with ARTPOP. We're just getting anxious because its about the time she said she'd release ARTPOP and we've yet to receive an update on it. Its understandable from a fans perspective. However, I think she's waiting for her tour to be over, the Beyonce/JT comeback hype to subside and the grammys/superbowl surge to be over.

I still think we will get the single in March/April with the album in May/June. Im leaning towards April when the tour actually ends. I think she deserves a little break. As long as I get the album by June, im fine. I anticipate right after the BTWB ends she'll anounce the Lead singles release date for Mid-Late April. It'll give her a few weeks to relax.

On the bright side, this gives her more time to work with Madeon and Zedd since they're touring with her.

She said the album is very commercial as well as being risky. She considers almost all of her music experimental and risky. She considered JD, PF and BR to be experimental and risky for pop music as well. So there is no real way of knowing. She was saying the same thing with BTW where she said it was experimental, risky and would test her fans but at the same time saying **** like 'people tell me BTW is almost too commercial.'

Why the hell does this "she shouldn't reveal the album title so early on blah blah blah" always crop up when it's discussed so often? It's obvious ARTPOP had an initial 2012 release, hence the early hyping and it was pushed back. Various reliable sources have hinted at this. Possibly a case of the label wanting something more commercial and pushing more from her, that's what I'm led to believe anyway.

Well, lets hope it will be commercial or.........I do not see her lasting too long only because of the monster fan base.

I don't recall any fans jumping ship due to BTW the album. In fact I recall most of the fanbase stanning hardcore for BTW. It wasnt till MTN flopped that fans jumped ship with the judas mess, teog video and y&I being perhaps additional reasons leading up to it. Even then a lot of the people that 'jumped ship' are still here for her.

Really I think the only truly bad mistake was releasing Judas. It released too early, underperformed and then when it started to turn around they dropped it for TEOG which caused a botched release for it as well as the music video taking forever to release. As well as a bunch of gaga singles out in a short time. If she has an underperforming single they should next time just stick with it for at least 2 months like any other artist does.

Ideally she wouldve released Judas two weeks before the album dropped on a Monday with the AI finale promo and video boosting it enough. If by July it was still struggling then she couldve released something else.
