The problem I have with this show now is that the judges are too extra and over the top. I remember in the early seasons with Simon, Paula, and Randy all they did was sit there and judge their voice. Now you got these newer judges flirting with the contestants, you got Nicki Minaj acting boy crazy, Mariah and Nicki arguing (which is why people are even tuning in) even last season you had Steven Tyler hitting on the female contestants. Like just judge their voice. It takes the attention away from the contestants. Back then all you heard was about the contestants, who was the fan favorite, ect Now everytime you hear about Idol news it's more about the judges and the latest controversy.

This is a great season so far! Nicki, Mariah, and Keith are all great judges and Randy has surprisingly improved since the last time I saw him (season 8!).

This episode there were less sob stories and theatrics and more singing, and there were actually a few contestants that I thought had star quality.

Yesterday Sarah the country rapper was the only contestant I liked, but today there were a couple: The girl who sang at the white house (Kiera?), Clifton, and Griffin.

I couldn't agree more !

I haven't watched idol in years. yes, the judges drew me in. its been great to watch how they all approach it. Enjoyed the second show more. so far so good

The black girl towards the end really pissed me off lol. There's no way she actually thought she was a good singer. Terrible.

I can't remember the exact details, but I remember he made a story about how he came back from the war or something and got hit. And he developed a really bad stutter, but when he sang it would go away. Everyone on Twitter was like "omg poor guy! " exactly like right now with that kid last night.

Then the week after, he got caught lying and everyone started sending him threats and he apologized over and over and got cut before the live rounds.

I really really really love this panel. Im surprised at how much i love nicki in this show, also mariah! Their love hate relationship is too funny. Great panel tbh.

i love allll the people that made it to hollywood so far. Mostly the girls but there are also some good guys.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Nicki as a judge, she's so entertaining I don't get the hate.

My faves from the first two episodes are Josh Holiday () and Angela Miller.
Johnny Keyser is good too.

This season is already incredible. AMERICAN IDOL IS BACK!!! I'm already obsessed again.
