LEX 18 is following breaking news out of Perry County tonight where there has been a shooting on the campus of Hazard Community and Technical College.

Sources tell LEX 18 that three people have been shot and that two of those people are dead. We're told this happened in the First Federal Center parking lot at HCTC just before 6:30 p.m.

Hazard Police are on the scene along with Kentucky State Police.

Such a shame. There was a shooting at a college in St. Louis, Missouri earlier today as well.

One of my ex girlfriends goes and lives near here.. The city is Hazard, the county is Perry..

Why do you insist on posting all these horrible non-music related stories here. I can check bbc or cnn for stuff like this. It's really not right.

Interesting. I spent about a decade in KY (Bowling Green) and I've never heard of Hazard, KY.

It's better to be informed than to not be informed.. This happened only 2 hours away from me, but is at a place I go near at least twice a year.. And I know there are native kentuckyians here on the forum as well as me.. Knowing things like this is important.. The weather is the same.. I took newspaper for two years in high school and one year of TV Journalism.. The media over does stories, but sometimes it is as serious as they report it.. This is serious, as Hazard is a very safe place and such a little town here in KY..

Things like this happen not just every day, but every hour, every minute. People die all over the world to horrible events all the time. There are places which report these sort of news and they are just a few clicks away and available for everyone to check. This is however a music forum primarily and stories like this should not be posted here unless of huge proportions. You should find another forum if that's your primarily interest.
