Quote:
#020. Muse - "Madness"
#019. Foo Fighters - "These Days"
#018. The Vaccines - "Teenage Icon"
#017. The Raveonettes - "She Owns The Streets"
#016. The Killers - "Runaways"
Solo no conocía la de The Raveonettes, la escuché y me gustó
Mi favorita es Madness
Jamás había pensado que She Owns The Streets quedaría tan alto aquí.
Qué excelente sería cantar Learn To Fly y Big Me en pleno concierto.

The Vaccines
"No Hope"
Come Of Age
Third and last appearance by The Vaccines in my countdown! I remember I didn't like this song the first time I listened to it. I found something different in his voice. But after hearing the album several times I loved it. Another great year for The Vaccines! They didn't disappoint me with their second album. Hope they countinue on the right track.
#014
Keane
"Sovereign Light Café"
Strangeland
Finally Keane make their first appearance in top 100! This song is great, the video is quite simple but fits perfectly with the song. Expect more Keane on the following updates!
#013
Beach House
"Myth"
Bloom
What a shame this great song doesn't have an official video! I wasn't a fan of this band before this song. I've heard some songs from their previous albums but it was until their latest album Bloom that they really caught my attention. This song is quite relaxing and soft, I love this kind of music.
#012
Django Django
"Default"
Django Django
Django Django make their second and last appearance in my countdown. I really enjoy the instrumental parts of the whole song. Their debut album is also great, definitely one of the best new acts of 2012.
#011
Grizzly Bear
"Yet Again"
Shields
Grizzly Bear was one of those bands I knew 2 or 3 songs. I remember "Two Weeks" made my top 200 of 2009 and that was it. It was until this album that I started to pay more attention to their music. Definitely is one of the best songs of the year instrumentally speaking.

Tomorrow, Top 100 Songs (#010-#006) + Top 20 Concerts (#1)
Last set: 4/5 I only don't like Teenage Icon. It happens to me as with The Maccabees, I've heard some of their stuff, didn't like it and didn't heard it anymore. I should give them a second chance. Great to see Madness and Runaways so high. I guess everyone was expecting more from both bands, but both songs are great and that's undeniable. I'm really surprised to see These Days so high! Good for The Raveonettes! I guess I should check their album.
This set: 4/5 Again! And The Vaccines are the ones I don't like once again. Just the first appearance by Keane? How many songs by them made it? It must be four... Django Django and Grizzly Bear are like my biggest discoveries in the second part of the year. Great to see them in the top 20!
OMG! I thought Strangeland would be your #1 Can't wait to see who's in that place

The Walkmen
"Heaven"
Heaven
As happened to me with Grizzly Bear, The Walkmen was one of those bands I liked two or three songs in the past, but this year I decided to give their latest album a listen and I really loved it! This song is by far my favorite from it. There were some rumours that they would be coming to my coutry this year, hopefully I won't miss them!
#009
The Black Keys
"Gold On The Ceiling"
El Camino
Talking about bands that didn't caught my eye in the past, here we have the oldest one, The Black Keys. It was until I heard this song that I started to like this band. I love the instrumentation of the whole song, they sound like a band of the sixties and I love that. They will be performing this year in my country with no others than Pearl Jam. I haven't got my ticket yet, but I really want to be there.
#008
The Maccabees
"Went Away"
Given To The Wild
Given To The Wild is for me one of the best albums of the year. I loved their performance when they came to my country. What a shame they didn't play this song in their short setlist! This is their fourth and last appearance by The Maccabees in top 100!
#007
The Shins
"It's Only Life"
Port Of Morrow
This was for me one of the most beautiful songs of the year. I love its melody and its deep lyrics. It talks about not being that worried when things go wrong or when you feel depressed, as the title says "It's Only Life".
#006
Keane
"Silenced By The Night"
Strangeland
"Silenced By The Night", lead single from their fourth studio album lands at #6! I won't forget the first day I heard this song. I had been waiting for new songs by them since 2010 when they released an EP. I remember I found in a website a Soundcloud link for this song. I loved it at the very first listen and it was on repeat like twenty times!

#01. Morrissey
Date: March 4th, 2012 Event: Morrissey South American Tour 2012 Location: Club Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires, GEBA.
Finally concert #1 goes to Morrissey! I can't put into words how great this show was. I started to get into Morrissey and The Smiths' music since about 2009 or 2010. I found a bunch of great songs, not only instrumentally but also lyrically. There are a lot of songs that I find myself identified with. And I know many people that happens the same, it seems as he is writing songs about you and your life.
I've seen many videos by his performances live and I saw he was amazing. Morrissey is now 53 and I thought that maybe his voice would be not the same as years before. But it was great, obviously not the same as when he was in The Smiths, but you could perfectly understand every word he said that night.
His visit to our country was unexpected and fast. Like one or two months before he announced on his website that he would be performing 4
concerts in Argentina in different cities throughout the country. That was something great for the fans in those cities and something totally unexpected to do for an international artist!
I managed to be near to the stage to watch him closely and it sounded great from where I was. He appeared on stage saying: 'Buenos Aires, I am a star', which led to the first scream of the audience. The members of his band were wearing t-shirts with an inscription: "We hate William and Kate". As we know, Morrissey was always that controversial about his country. He is like always showing himself like a real English man but who hates being English because of their history and politicians. In fact, he told us his thoughts about the Malvinas Islands or Falklands Islands as they call them. He said: "You know of course the Malvinas Islands, everybody knows they belong to Argentina. So please, don't blame the British people, we know the islands belong to you". I really found wisdom in his words. We all know it's all about politics and the nations shouldn't be faced each other. That brings anger and hatred among the people, and all about something that has nothing to do with them.
Regarding to the concert itself, the sound was amazing and the first part of the setlist, awesome! He opened with the powerful "First Of The Gang To Die" followed by "You Have Killed Me", two of the songs that people showed more excitement. I almost dropped a tear with the performances of "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" and "Let Me Kiss You". I love both tracks and the lyrics are really touching, lyrics that I sometimes feel identified. There were many hit songs along the setlist, but the second part of it was not the best, in my opinion. One of the most interesting moments was when he performed "Meat Is Murder". As you might know, Morrissey is a vegetarian and a defender of animal rights. While the song was being performed, behind them there were videos about how they kill animals for meat. Some of them were really bloody and painful to watch. We were all impressed staring at those images during the whole song. It is good to be aware of that, but honestly I don't believe this would change something in our attitudes, specially in my country, one of the major producers and consumers of meat. What's more, in the food stalls inside the stadium the owners were not allowed to sell anything that contains meat. Insted, there were pizza and soy milanese, something quite strange to eat in this kind of events.
The end before the encore was other of the best parts of the show. The classic "How Soon Is Now?" was the song chosen to close the setlist. That was the perfect finale for the show, although there was en encore with only one song from his latest album.
I will never forget that night! This concert had something special that others do not. Maybe it's because I feel identified by the lyrics of most of his songs. Hope he come back soon and sing some of the hit songs that were missing this time.
