Agreed.
Politically, I think the film thematically defended water-boarding as a necessary evil which I have a problem with and far too often tip-toed a line between patriotic and jingoistic.
As for Chastain's performance, VASTLY overrated. Minus maybe two crucial scene's (including the one where she confronts her co-worker), where she suddenly turned the 'on' switch and was actually astounding, everything else was bizarrely pedestrian, like an overgrown teenage redhead playing "tough cop".
